Remo Emperor SMT Ebony Bass Drumhead 20″

Remo Emperor SMT Ebony Bass Drumhead

The Emperor SMT Ebony is a heavy-duty, pre-muffled bass drumhead featuring Sub Muffl Technology (SMT). This head sets a new industry standard for durability and depth, providing a musical and versatile sound that is perfectly suited for both high-energy live performances and precision recording sessions.

Robust 2-Ply Construction

Building on the legendary Emperor platform, the SMT Ebony offers enhanced strength and a deeper fundamental pitch:

• Dual-Layer Film: Constructed with 2-plies of film (7.5-mil Ebony and 5-mil Clear), offering superior durability and a punchier, more controlled response than single-ply heads.
• Sleek Ebony Aesthetic: The high-gloss black finish provides a modern, aggressive look while contributing to a slightly warmer, darker tonal character.

Advanced Sub Muffl Technology

SMT allows for a “mic-ready” sound without the need for additional internal pillows or blankets:

• Free-Floating Acoustic Foam: Features an externally mounted dampening profile that allows the head and shell to vibrate naturally while focusing the sound.
• Controlled Frequencies: Specifically engineered to tame high and mid-range overtones, leaving you with deep, powerful low tones.
• Wide Tuning Spectrum: Remains musical across a variety of tensions, delivering a massive low-end punch and a sharp, defined attack.

Available in sizes 16″ through 24″, the Emperor SMT Ebony is the ultimate choice for drummers who demand a thick, authoritative bass drum sound with maximum durability.
