The half moon switch is the control layout organ players learned on. It sits under the left hand at the end of the manual so you can hit the speed change mid phrase without looking.

Reaching for a panel button to change rotor speed costs you a beat every time. This is why the accessory exists.

It fits the C1, C2, C2D and Organ 3, and the Electro 61 and 73.

Does It Fit the Electro 7?

Nord lists the switch as fitting the Electro 61 and 73. Confirm compatibility against your specific Electro generation before ordering if you are on a newer model, since the mounting point can change between revisions.

Can I Use a Foot Switch Instead?

Yes. Most Nord organs and Electros have a rotary control and foot switch jack that will take a switch type pedal. The half moon is a hand control, which many organ players prefer because it leaves the feet free for a swell pedal.

What Comes in the Box?

The switch and its mounting hardware. Instruments and cables are separate.

Why Nord

Nord accessories are designed by Clavia DMI in Stockholm alongside the instruments they serve, which is why the fit charts are exact rather than approximate. A Nord case is cut for a Nord cabinet, not for a size range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is installation permanent?

It mounts to the keyboard cheek and can be removed. Follow the Nord fitting instructions rather than improvising, since you are working next to the keybed.

Can I use a half moon switch and a foot switch at the same time?

Instruments generally read one rotary speed control source at a time. Check your instrument settings to see which input takes priority.
