Mapex MPX Maple/Poplar Hybrid Shell Side Snare Drum 12×6 Trans Midnight Black

Mapex MPX Maple/Poplar Hybrid “Power” Piccolo Snare Drum Compact Versatility with Professional Tone

The Mapex MPX 12×6 Power Piccolo Snare combines innovative hybrid shell construction with professional-grade hardware to deliver a compact drum that punches well above its size. Built from a 7.2mm maple and poplar blend, this snare captures the warm resonance and crisp attack of maple while gaining the durability and full-bodied projection of poplar. Whether you’re adding an auxiliary voice to your kit, exploring new sonic textures, or seeking a portable solution for small venues and rehearsals, this piccolo snare cuts through any mix with distinctive character and tuning flexibility. The 6″ depth creates bottom end which complements a cranked tuning well. The 10-lug design and SONIClear bearing edges provide an extensive tuning range, allowing you to dial in everything from tight, articulate cracks to deeper, more resonant tones. Lightweight 1.3mm triple-flanged hoops and a cast piccolo throw-off ensure responsive, reliable performance, while the Remo UX batter head delivers superior sound quality right out of the box.
