IK Multimedia iRig Keys I/O 25 is a 25-key controller keyboard with a full audio interface built in, combining full-size velocity-sensitive synth-action keys with a balanced XLR microphone input at 3.2 kOhm supplying +48 V phantom power and 46 dB of gain, a 1 MOhm Hi-Z instrument input with 27 dB of gain, and two balanced 1/4 in. TRS floating line outputs.
The keyboard and the interface are the same box, so the desk only loses space once.

A songwriting setup normally needs a controller keyboard and an audio interface, two power situations and two USB connections. iRig Keys I/O collapses that into one instrument. The keyboard plays software and hardware, and the same chassis records a microphone or an instrument at the same time.
The keys are full-size with a velocity-sensitive synth action, which is unusual at this footprint. IK specifies the 25-key model as substantially smaller than the closest competing controller with full-size keys, and around 25 percent lighter, which is the practical argument for it in a small room or a travel rig.
The audio side is real rather than token. The microphone input is balanced XLR at 3.2 kOhm with 46 dB of gain and +48 V phantom power at plus or minus 4 V, input noise at -100 dB RMS, and 20 Hz to 20 kHz response within 1.5 dB. The instrument input is unbalanced Hi-Z at 1 MOhm with 27 dB of gain. Outputs are two balanced TRS, floating, with automatic level compensation.

Space, cable count and travel. One device, one connection, one thing to set up. For a small room or a mobile rig that is a real advantage, and the audio specifications are good enough that you are not paying for the convenience with quality.
Songwriters and producers who record vocals or guitar alongside programmed parts, mobile studios, and anyone building a compact rig around an iPad or a laptop. The 25-key version is the travel option.
